Seemed Like a Good Idea at the Time...

Well, I've just come back from today's stint of Standing Building Survey, and I've just got enough time to toss down some food before I'm off horse-riding.
The only trouble with this itinerant lifestyle is that it gets very hard to maintain a decent social life. I missed the Writers' Group on Monday, I missed horse-riding last week and I'd have missed it this week if I hadn't been shoe-horned into an unusual lesson slot.
Physically, I'm not sure I'm up to it. I'm beginning to suspect that the weird hip pain I've been suffering in association with various things, and especially horse-riding, is a form of sciatica. I've had an extremely uncomfortable time over the last couple of weeks with an inexplicably sore leg that gets worse at night and won't clear up with painkillers - and it sure as heck isn't muscular, and nor is it a joint problem.
Can I go to the doctor? Of course not, because I don't know where I'm going to be billeted on any particular day and my life's subject to last-minute changes on a constant basis.
At least the gentle walking on level ground I've been enjoying at walk just recently is proving beneficial. I've suffered similar problems before, and I've managed to get through them with light exercise and stretching, so I reckon this should do the trick on this occasion, too. It's not been excrutiating for weeks - just mildly unpleasant!
That's an end to the Ripon Cathedral posts. Tomorrow, I'll be whisking you away elsewhere, though Yorkshire will no doubt remain the destination! But I'll let Ripon Cathedral have the last word, in a metaphorical sense, at least:-

A view up into the tower - and I wouldn't like to be the one with the job of doing the decorating!
And lastly, a view of the chancel:
And lastly, a view of the chancel:
Like I said before, it''s well worth a visit!
