I don't usually do two blog posts per day, but...

I just watched the film Near Dark. Not as a good as I remembered it, but very stylish visually and the soundtrack (by Tangerine Dream) is rather good.

It's now over, and I just found a bizarre on-line quiz which asked 'What kind of fanfic writer are you?' It's been a while since I was an active fanwriter, but hey, the quiz seemed to deal with this little problem.

Fanfiction is a creative outlet for you. You don't intentionally write it, it just happens. You find inspiration in several fandoms, but are not obsessed with only one.

You like to explore "what if" situations. What if this character had never made this very choice? What if this event had taken place sooner, never, elsewhere? What if these people had never met?

You are likely to write Alternative Universes, fan seasons or sequels and just follow your (sometimes pretty strange) plot bunnies.

So there you have it.

Beats watching Dan Snow talking about the history of the British (i.e. English, with a light seasoning of Scots/Welsh etc. for good measure) Navy, anyway...
