Another Day, Another Watching Brief...

Today was the second part of the town centre watching brief. I was prepared this time. I was wearing my GI Jane trousers. I had my thick woolly pullover - it's patterned, of course, and looks terribly unstylish. But that's all part of the uniform - patterned jumpers are de rigour for archaeologists- watch any British television archaeology programme, and you'll soon see what I mean. I've got the glasses, too, but I'm afraid getting a beard's a bit beyond me...
It was sunny, it was almost warm (it's roasting now!), which meant I had a rather pleasant day. And I was back in the office by lunchtime, which meant I managed to get more of my outstanding reports progressed in the afternoon...
It's Friday tomorrow. I've got to visit the town centre one more time to watch them put in a gully pot. And there'll be more digging next week, which I will have to attend as everyone else is disappearing on a larger field project.
Hopefully the weather will hold and I'll be in the garden this weekend. The plants are coming on beautifully, and I had a lovely surprise today when I noticed some baby Aquilegea in the garden. They're variegated: I bought a batch of variegated columbines a few years back but they were quite fragile and I lost them all. Now they've finally left a rather lovely legacy, which I'll have to try and nuture as best I can!
