It's Boxing Day Morning. Christmas Dinner #1 (for my father) has been consumed: Quorn roast, roast & boiled spuds, sage & onion stuffing, sprouts with chestnuts, peas & the inevitable M&S Luxury Christmas Pud with brandy butter and extra thick double cream. We'll be repeating the experience for J's parents today...
And then there's Christmas cake to be eaten. And Stollen...
In desperation, I sought refuge in the Cindy Crawford work-out video this morning. I've worked up to 40 minutes over the last couple of months, so I thought I'd do the rather easy aerobic workout which is supposed to be for new mums who are trying to get back to fitness.
Gasp!! If I was a new mum trying that one, I think I'd be in intensive care...
Since the mood is still festive, I thought I'd post a few appropriate photos. Here's the tree:-
Unfortunately, the Lush gift box was not for me...
I'm not sure my coniferous friend will survive into next year- when I inspected it closely, it looked like it's been howked out of the ground and plonked unceremoniously into its pot, poor thing. Having a live tree kind of spoils the idea of an annual sacrifice, but it made me feel a whole lot better when I watched The Two Towers last night and heard Treebeard complaining about all the woods being cut down...
Amongst the gifts, an unexpected present was forthcoming. J's brother and sister-in-law had brought round a hamper of goodies, which included a small gift-wrapped something. This is what lay inside:-
They've got me sussed, haven't they?
So even though I never made it to the Ancestors, the Ancestors decided instead to come to me, in pocket-sized form. Nice!!
