Fountains Abbey Revisited

I thought I'd feature some nice windows today.
This particular window got a bad press in the guidebook. The window in the background is fifteenth century (as is the tower itself) and in the perpendicular style. This is supposedly out of keeping with the wider character of the abbey buildings:-

I'm afraid I'm going to demonstrate my architectural ignorance by saying that... I quite like it!! I like the way the two styles are juxtaposed.

And lastly, let's go back to some nice bog standard Gothic. Or is it Transitional...?
