Stay on Target,,,
Jan. 15th, 2010 08:36 pmIt's been a difficult day. A day of conquering typos., stitching together .pdf's and checking through the print-ready copy one last time.
I have now finished. Everything's packed, and ready, but I'm not going to allow myself the luxury of celebration until the packages are in the post tomorrow.
It's the end of an era, and I'm heartily relieved. For two days, I've slaved over my work in the evenings instead of relaxing in front of the television. I missed 'Batman Begins' a couple of nights ago - I watched it off and on, and wasn't that impressed. There'll be more on Batman on a later post, I'm sure. Suffice it to say, he's the only superhero character I have any time for. 'Batman Begins' was a bit too much of an action movie for my liking, not dark and reflective enough. I didn't like the script much, I didn't like the interpretation of Batman's character (far too petulant and immature), and I'm afraid I wasn't inspired by Michael Caine's Alfred, either. He wasn't polished enough for my liking.
Tonight, to celebrate the completion of my thesis publication, I unwound with an episode of 'Batman - The Animated Series'. As interpretations of the Caped Crusader go, I still think this one's hard to beat.
