The Paisley trip was another busman's holiday, I'm afraid. But working with buildings and artefacts day in/day out does help you read and interpret them better. There's so many details that it's easy to miss something crucial. I'm getting much better, but I've still got a lot to learn. It doesn't help when your field of expertise becomes 20th century brick & concrete...
