What a relief!  Last night, our friends in the Met Office over-egged the pudding.  If it snowed round here, it was probably over the summit of Ben Lomond.  Cumbria, however, seems to be getting it bad, so oh boy, am I glad we didn't go to the Lakes this week!

The Awfully Nice Folks at Kenwood are most concerned to hear about the troubles we've had with Homer the Breadmaker, so the gadget in question will be sent to their factory without delay.  I'm pleased to report that the cheese & spring onion (not chive!) loaf was successfully salvaged, and very tasty it is, too.

Random observation: we had four siskins in the garden today. This is a new record.  Unfortunately, the girlie brambling that was spotted in the garden the day we left for the Lakes has not made a re-appearance.  The Great Garden Birdwatch is coming up, so fingers crossed we'll get a good turnout.  Though no doubt, as usual, the birds will pencil in their annual vacation for that weekend.

Yesterday, I got out into the garden to do some weeding.  I lasted ten minutes before I was forced indoors from the cold.  I should go back out today and blitz another strip of flower-bed, but it's very wet, and I don't want to.

Back to work on Thursday.  Oh, joy...

Glad that Kenwood are doing the repair - quite right too!

I've sort of got interested in bird watching through my parents, who are quite into it. Although I don't have a garden of my own, so my opportunities are limited!

You must be close to some interesting places, though.
