'Because tonight I'm going to see 'Warhorse'.

I shall be taking copious hankies, because I'm expecting the worst.  I finished reading the final Jinny book, 'Ride Like the WInd' today, and that didn't bode well - when Easter the aging pony gets put down, I was sniffling away at my desk.

It's definitely a case of life imitating art, imitating life.  When I was a kid, I wanted to be Jinny.  Now I'm older and wiser, I look back and see that in many respects, I did grow up just like Jinny.

Okay, so I didn't get involved with horse thieves, egg collectors or shop-lifting kids, but...  The episode where Jinny has to endure Easter's demise is a case in point - it was so close to reality that it hurt!  Big-time!  Because, like Jinny, when the time came for my horse to be put down, I didn't have the guts to stand there and hold the rope while the deed was done.  Reading it brought back bad memories, and it didn't help that I've got a picture of Squire as my wallpaper on the computer at work...

One thing's annoying me, though.  I seem to have mislaid my copy of 'Night of the Red Horse'.  This was the weird supernatural book where Jinny struggles to outwit the archaeologists who are trying to find a 'Celtic' (presumably Iron Age) statuette.  I thought I'd brought it over from my dad's house, but...  I just can't seem to find it.

Anyway, I'd better go.  Have a nice evening, everyone!
