Horror of horrors!  They're sending me out on site again, for the second time in five working days!!  What's the world coming to?  I'm a bookworm, not a fieldworm...

And...  Rumour has it the five-day week will be reinstated next week.  No more writing/gardening/ swanning about an a bicycle then.

Now, in my next Dumfries & Galloway post, here's a picture for Star Trek fans everywhere:-

Resistance is futile, so they say...  Borgue is a tiny little village in Kirkcudbrightshire with just a couple of houses, a hotel and a church.   It's on the route of the bike run we enjoyed back in April (Kirkcudbright to Cream o'Galloway round trip), and it's the location of yet another historic site in the area.

Borgue Old House was built in 1680 - it's a country house or mansion rather than a tower-house.  But it's still very atmospheric, and very much embodies the qualities of the picturesque ruin:-

Tomorrow, I'll introduce you to 19th century industrialist James Brown and his architectural oddities...  Meanwhile, here's our trusty steeds reclining at our destination while we scoffed our faces with ice cream.

And now...  Here's a plug!  Cream o'Galloway ice-cream has to be tasted to be believed.  Their range of flavours include Millionaire's Shortbread and Cranachan.  Yummy!!
