The little town of Haltwhistle, in Northumberland.

The weather was um, questionable, but a stretch of Hadrian's Wall was walked, various Roman sites were visited, and I managed to sneak in a few examples of medieval ecclesiastical and modern industrial architecture, too.

So I have plenty of things to tell you about over the next couple of days.

Tonight, though, is the Writers' Group, so I'd better get on with the spit and polish of my latest section.

Thanks for all your suggestions - I shall file them away for Future Reference, and it'll be back to something approaching normality tomorrow!!

I've never been to the North East, although I hear parts of Northumberland are lovely. I would love to visit Hadrian's Wall.

It's well worth a visit. When the sun comes out, it's gorgeous.
