I thought I'd take the opportunity to post some gratuitous pictures of pretty stuff from Pompeii.

And this time around, everything's from a domestic environment, and everything's still in situ - hoorah!!

I much prefer this kind of interior decor, with its architectural elements, and sparse use of colour, to the more in your face frescoes which, more often than not, feature scenes of gratuitous animal cruelty:-


 

Well, they are Romans.  What do you expect??
